About NuCLEANase®
NuCLEANase® is a food-grade endonuclease, which can be used for the removal of nucleic acids in a large variety of biotech processes.
NuCLEANase® is a recombinant Serratia marcescens endonuclease produced in Bacillus sp. The enzyme cleaves all forms of DNA/RNA by catalyzing the hydrolysis of the phosphodiester bonds between nucleotides, leaving short fragments with a length of 2 to 5 base pairs.
Depending on your application NuCLEANase® is available as a tech-grade or food-grade, liquid formulation. The food grade product is considered as a processing aid and comes with halal/kosher certification. Further the product is listed on the FDAs GRAS Inventory List, which designates the safety of the product under the conditions of its intended use.
Applications
NuCLEANase® is intended for the hydrolysis of nucleic acids during manufacturing of microbial-derived products and is often used for the following applications:

Removal of residual host DNA in food and feed enzymes, ensuring compliance with the relevant regulatory guidelines

Viscosity reduction of the fermentation broth by nucleic acids digestion to improve the efficacy of the recovery

For which Application Field do you need NuCLEANase®?

In fermentative derived products, NuCLEANase® can be used for the removal of residual DNA from genetically modified production hosts for regulatory compliance.

In phage manufacturing processes NuCLEANase® is used to specifically remove nucleic acids from cell lysates to reduce the viscosity and aggregate formation and hence facilitates the purification of the phages.

In fermentation processes, NuCLEANase® can be used to reduce the nucleic acid induced viscosity in fermentation broths, enabling a significantly more efficient process.
